Scion FR-S Convertible Pics Were Leaked

"I'm also pretty sure a few Honda designers are lamenting ever having dropped the Honda S2000 from production in the first place." As are more than a few drivers...

Read a bit more about this author's views of the new FR-S convertible at the following link. This car really does seem like the car that Honda should have made. I'd certainly drive one. I can't help but thinking that the body styling on the FR-S looks like it came right out of the shops of Aston Martin or Jaguar. Those designers seriously got it right on this one. The engine is just a bit underpowered in my opinion (it's a bit bigger car than the S2000) but I'm guessing that an upgraded engine option is probably on its way. I've already seen a couple of FR-S's in coupe form driving around town here and I live out in the sticks. So apparently I'm not the only one with good taste.

Used S2000 Over Boxster

I thought this was fun since I literally made this decision in the past year to move from the S to the Boxster. In my case, I traded in an '05 S for my '07 Porsche...and most of the complaints of this article were relegated to the earlier Boxster. That said, I didn't spent $17,500 either. Anyway, enjoy the read. It's interesting and certainly proves the point that in a world of dime-a-dozen Porsches, the S2000 is still a rare and special car.

Dumb Asses

And this, my friends is the reason that your car insurance rates go up every single quarter when you drive an S2000. Now I am certainly a believer in Darwinian Evolution. And there is something to be said for the concept of survival of the fittest taking out the dumbest members of our society. I just wish that they could do it in a Hyundai.

Toyota FRS Convertible

Looks like the little Toyota / Scion / Subaru will finally get its drop top version this next year. Some leaked photos show what it'll look like without a roof. And I have to say, I'd drive that. What a great-looking, rear wheel drive little sports car. For those who felt the demise of the S2000 would require them to either step down to the Miata or up to the Porsche or BMW, there is now a viable option from Japan that looks to be quite a fun car. And the wheels on this concept are SICK!

Where've I Gone

I started this blog when I bought my S2000. This past Fall, I sold my baby and moved up to a Boxster. I'm completely in love with my Porsche. It is just a far more refined vehicle with bells and whistles on its bells and whistles. That all said, I miss my S. Wish that I was wealthy enough to have kept it and just had one of each. But I'm not. I've had trouble deciding what to do with this page, but in the end, I've decided that my original goal was to build it just as a place to keep all my stats and photos and such stored. So with that in mind, I think I'm going to just keep it that way. And in the meantime, if I dig up anything interesting about the next generation of the S, I'll post it.

To anyone who ever hits this page (based on Google stats, there are a few of you) thanks!

Vision of the Future?

A design student rendered some pretty crazy concepts for what he believes could be the resurrection of the S2000 in 2020. Read more about it at the following link.

1244 Horspower

Okay, this isn't an S2000 story, but this is PURE insanity. 1244 horsepower in a car? That's up in Bugatti Veyron territory. Read more about Steven Tyler's new ride over at Top Gear here.

New Floor Mats

I finally bit the bullet and bought some new floor mats. Mine aren't all that old, but after 7 years of wear and tear, the carpet over the humps in front of the seats is finally wearing thin. I've been looking at the different extended mats for years from Muz and the other guy who makes them, but I'm just too cheap to spend $400 on a set of floor mats even if they are made from the finest wool in all of Scotland. These mats I was able to score for $89 on eBay and they look like they'll do the trick just fine.
